My name is Cheryl Chuy. I am 31 years old and the owner of @worldwidelashes and @worldwideemporiumau.
I started my first business Cheryl De Beautè when I was 18 years old. I took a business loan that was over $80k from my mum and the bank and had to pay it back including the interest.
It took me years to pay my mother back because the first few years was a struggle. I don’t talk about it much because I felt embarrassed about it. But now that I’m older I look back at it and think, wow not every 18 year old could do that and would be willing to start their own business to risk everything.
I paid my business debt off after a few years and my first big ticket item I bought for myself to reward myself was a RED CHANEL bag! It felt so damn good!
I have pretty much been my own boss since I was 18. Worked for myself. Prior to that, i worked at a chocolate shop in Manly when I was 14 and 9 months. I then worked at a chemist in Dee Why for a few years during high school.
I have two cute kids; my 11 year old daughter called Victoria and my five year old son called Mason. Yes!!! They are also Hung Chuy’s kids if anyone is wondering. I got married to Hung in 2015! We had been dating since 2010.
I have been through a lot of ups and downs with Hung but it was all a learning curve for us. My husband is also the founder of @strategicbrokers. We also have a part share in @qstation Manly since 2022.
I absolutely love my life right now and wouldn’t change it for the world.
It has made me who I am today!
