Pavla’s passion for art started as a child but she unveiled her talent as an artist after becoming a mother, a wife, teacher, graphic design and cafe business owner and much more.
She ticked so many experiences off her bucket list before taking that leap of faith and opening up her own art studio in. 2020.
She finds so much joy and pleasure stepping into her art studio because every single artwork creation tells a different story.
It was the encouragement of her long lasting friendships that helped her build up the courage to awaken her soul and put paint to canvas.
Pavla had always been too nervous, almost frightened to pursue art as a career, but it was becoming more and more difficult to suppress her need to focus on it.
It got to a point in her life where the love of creating art became stronger than the fear. So she made the conscious decision to create with passion regardless of where the work took her and that’s when Pavla Spencer Art was born.
The first artwork that moved her was Geurnica by Picasso. She was introduced to it as a tapestry in her grandmother’s home as a young child.
Even back then she was fascinated with how something could depict the tragedies of war.
Her family lived through the war in Nazi Europe so this was quite symbolic being in her grandmother’s home here in Australia.
It was a reminder of what her ancestors had lived through.
It was from that first encounter with Geurnica that her love of Picasso began and over the years expanded to include an array of different artists and styles.
Each new day and everything that happens around her is inspiration for her art.
Pavla’s work is intuitive but she also gathers so much from just by being present in the moment and grasping the endless experiences in her day to day life.
“My art is a release of complexity, resolve, confusion, mixed with contentment, fun, happiness and colour,” explains Pavla.
