NADIA TOUBJI – FASHION DESIGNER
“Style is a way to say who you are without having to speak.”
Hi, my name is Nadia Toubji and i’m the Founder and Creator of @aidanbynadia. I have been working two jobs whilst starting up my own fashion label. I would have to say I am extremely driven, goal orientated and work hard to achieve my personal goals.
I studied Fashion at the Fashion Design Studio. I loved and loathed every single minute of it as anyone who has studied fashion would know. The highlight of my course was that it taught me how to take criticism and to back myself which I feel has been my most valuable lesson to date.
My Fashion Label @aidanbynadia is proudly Australian Made and Manufactured. I feel we have the best resources and supplies in Australia and building a reputable Australia brand has been the driving force behind all that I do. My label originally started as a sport and muscle recovery brand consisting of a few lifestyle pieces but i’ve recently branched out into other areas.
It all started with an opportunity that struck me by chance, when I met a local Sydney leather artisan who has been in the industry for over 40 years. He was happy to mentor me and pass on his love and knowledge of this particular product in the Australian industry.
In early 2020, we decided to collaborate and design a 12 piece capsule collection, then COVID-19 hit and we had to slow down the process of producing 12 pieces but we still went ahead and finished two pieces within the range which I will forever treasure and I’m so excited to be launching them this month.
In conjunction with our two pieces, we will also be launching a beautiful Jewellery line, which has been produced from a home studio in western Sydney. These fine pieces are all Australian supplies and made by hand. I am extremely passionate about supporting the Australian manufacturing industry and want to educate anyone on becoming a ‘conscious consumer.’
My personal mission is to design and collaborate with as many local Aussie creatives as possible. I can’t emphasise enough how important it is for me to shine a light on all the local talent and skills we have on shore.
