Melanie Thomas is the founder of KYUP! Project — a bold, evidence-based movement empowering
girls and women to be prepared, not scared.
A 20+ year martial arts expert, speaker, and girls’ safety advocate, Mel has dedicated her life to
one core mission:
Nobody gets left behind.
Through KYUP!, she partners with schools, police, PCYC, regional communities and corporate
leaders to teach behavioural intelligence, boundary setting, intuition and early red-flag
recognition — long before violence escalates. Her work sits at the intersection of prevention,
empowerment and real-world strategy.
But Mel doesn’t teach fear.
She teaches pattern recognition.
She teaches exit skills.
She teaches girls how to trust themselves.
As a mother of two daughters, Mel’s voice is equal parts strength and softness — grounded in
lived experience, data and decades of coaching women to stand taller in every room they enter.
Her message is simple:
You are not too sensitive.
You are not overreacting.
Your intuition is information.
From regional towns to boardrooms, Mel is building a movement where courage is contagious.
and women reclaim their power — early.
